The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Opens Unique Breast Milk Bank New On-Site Milk Bank Will Enhance Process of Providing Human Milk to Vulnerable Infants

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) today opened the first human milk bank of its kind in the Philadelphia region.  The CHOP Mothers' Milk Bank (MMB) will provide donor human milk to hospitalized infants at CHOP's main campus.  The CHOP Mothers' Milk Bank was developed in cooperation with the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA), a professional organization that sets the standards and guidelines for nonprofit donor milk banking in North America.  It is one of the only nonprofit milk banks located inside a freestanding children's hospital in the United States, and is the 18th HMBANA approved...
